Purpose To have friendly competition where men can fellowship and enjoy the fun of the competition keeping Christ as the number one priority. Spring Golf League (2010 Flyer) Description The spring golf league is a weekly nine-hole league played on the front of the Foothills Golf Course’s Championship course. The competition is handicapped stroke play using the first week to set two flights: Blue and White. The last week is kept for other competitive golf games include closest-to-the-pin, longest drive and longest putt. After the round, many players gather in the clubhouse restaurant for food, drinks, laughs and sometimes amazing conversation. When The 2010 Spring Leagues is starting Monday, April 5, 2010 at Foothills Golf Course. We'll play for ten weeks skipping Memorial Day. The end date will be scheduled scheduled for the middle of June with two weeks for weather cancellations so it is possible to play until the end of June. This is a ten-week season, and tee-time starts at 4:30pm. There are a limited number of spaces, so sign-up today! $220 for the season. Spring Golf Flyer Why The golf league is another way to get connected at WaterStone. We do our best to rotate men through the various foursomes so by June he will know each of the 23 other men. It happened when I was part of a youth group as a member of First Friends Church of Whittier. My religious walk started as a Methodist, then I attended a Baptist oriented elementary school in Whittier, CA, then came Catholic theology, then some Presbyterian stuff and finally I found a fabulous home here at WaterStone. Good stuff all along the way. As you might guess, I'm an avid sports fan. Grew up loving the Dodgers in LA, played football in high school and junior college and have a strong attachment to the Trojans of USC--"fight-on"! And yes, golf sits in my corner too. I love to play, love to hack and just have a great time. Golf is kinda my time to think about nothing else other than hitting that white ball. That's right...hitting it and hitting it and sometimes way to often! But I have a good time regardless. Here's hoping those that read this bio take the opportunity to play in the WaterStone Men's League. It's a blast and a time to share our lives with other Christian men who want to be part of a strong men's group. Sooo, here's looking forward to meeting all who read this bio! |
