David: The Repentant King

Shame can take hold in our lives, whether it's from past failures, painful experiences, or the pressure to meet other people’s expectations. It can leave us feeling like we’re not worthy of love or belonging. But then we see King David, who goes out of his way to show unexpected kindness to someone who had been living in isolation and shame. He brings him in, gives him a seat at his table, and secures his future.

That story points us to what Jesus does for us today. He meets us in our brokenness and offers us grace, not because we’ve earned it, but because we’re deeply loved. In real life, that kind of grace means we don’t have to hide our imperfections or pretend we have it all together. Jesus invites us in, just as we are, and gives us a place to belong. Grace might not take away all the hard things, but it anchors us in love, worth, and belonging.
